Dear electricity customers
Tampereen Energia Oy and Väre Oy have agreed an arrangement whereby all customers with a Tampereen Energia electricity contract will be transferred to Väre on July 1, 2024.
We will take care of everything for you, you don’t have to do anything
Customers with a Tampereen Energia electricity contract will become Väre customers from July 1, 2024. You don’t have to do anything – together with Väre, we will take care of everything for you.
The contract transfer will not affect your electricity contract or contract terms, it will simply be transferred with the same prices and validity period to Väre. We will take care of customer service and invoicing for our electricity customers until June 30, 2024, after which all services and contracts will be transferred to Väre’s good hands.
The arrangement applies only to the sale of electricity. As before, Tampereen Energia will continue to produce heat, cooling and electricity in its power plants and distribute heat, cooling and electricity in its district heating and electricity network in the Tampere area.
Tampere Energy is not going to disappear, instead we will continue to do what we do best: we will heat our home town – carbon neutrally, by 2030.
Why are Tampereen Energia's electricity contracts being transferred to Väre?
We are giving up our electricity sales business so that we can invest even more strongly in our climate-friendly heating business and in local energy networks and services.
The change does not affect our other services or operations – we will continue to produce and distribute heating, cooling and electricity as before.
What does this mean for me?
Your electricity contract, including the price and services, will continue exactly as it is for the time being, completely unchanged.
This applies to both fixed-term and valid-until-further-notice contracts. You don’t need to do anything. With nationwide service, Väre enables you to get even better service with more competitive contracts.
Väre is the best possible home for our customers
Väre is an advanced Finnish electricity service company and one of the largest electricity providers in the country.
Väre’s goal is to be a pioneer in comprehensive energy services and a partner for new energy solutions in Finland.
Where can I get service and customer support?
We will serve customers with a Tampereen Energia electricity contract until June 30, 2024, after which Väre will take over responsibility for customer service related to electricity contracts.
There will be no interruption to your electricity supply. It will continue automatically from July 1, 2024, provided by Väre, according to the same contract terms you agreed with Tampereen Energia.
Väre’s goal is to be the most respected energy service provider in Finland. A good example of this is our Väppi application, which is already one of the most respected customer apps in the industry.

Tampereen Energia will bill you for your energy consumption until July 1, 2024. You will receive the last invoice from us during July. Väre will bill you from then on, and the invoicing name and account number will change on your electricity bills.
If you live in the area where the Tampereen Energia Sähköverkko distribution network operates and you have previously received at least one bill from us, you will receive invoices for the transfer of electricity from Tampere Energia Sähköverkko in the future.
Will I receive two bills in the future, one for electricity consumption and one for electricity transmission?
Yes. Väre will bill you for electrical energy and your local network company will bill you for electricity transmission. If you live in the area where the Tampereen Energia Sähköverkko distribution network operates, you will receive invoices for electricity transmission from them in the future.
I have received my bill as an e-invoice, do I need to do something?
You will receive an e-invoice proposal from Väre for your own online bank. When you accept the e-invoice proposal, you will continue to receive your electricity bills as e-invoices.
You can request Tampereen Energia Sähköverkko electricity transmission bills to be delivered as e-invoices after you receive the first bill.
Why did I receive a final bill from Tampere Energia?
When your electricity contract is transferred to Väre, your contract with Tampereen Energia ends. A final bill is issued from the terminated contract. However, your electricity contract will continue with Väre unchanged, and there will be no interruptions to your electricity supply.
I want to change the due date of my bill; how can I do that?
You can change the due date of bills from Tampereen Energia in the Sähkis service.
Monitoring your electricity consumption
I have followed my electricity consumption in Sähkis, where will I be able to see my data in the future?
Tampereen Energia’s Sähkis service is available to our electricity customers until around the end of August, i.e. practically until the last invoices are due.
Updates to consumption, contract and customer information will end on June 30, 2024, when your contract is transferred to Väre. However, the due date of the final invoice from Tampereen Energia can still be postponed in Sähkis.
When the contracts are transferred to Väre, customers will also have access to Väre’s own Väppi service from July 1, 2024. Electricity consumption data from your time as a Tampereen Energia customer will not be transferred to Väre’s digital services. However, you will still be able to find your electricity consumption data in Fingrid’s Datahub customer portal and in the monitoring services of electricity network companies.
Customers who live in the area where the Tampereen Energia Sähköverkko distribution network operates will be able to see their consumption data from before and after the change in the Sähköverkko Sähkis service. If you have a login ID for Tampereen Energia’s Sähkis, you can also access Sähköverkko Sähkis with the same ID.
